Designing Pa's Cottage

Inspired by a family holiday to Cornwall between lockdowns in 2020

Staying in a quaint and perfectly positioned beach cottage, perched above the sea. The inspiration was in abundance. The beautiful colours, irredescent light, the calming and relaxed vibes all made for a period of recovery, in an otherwise turbulent and stressful year.

The colours used in the range reflect this time, along with the inspiring landscape around the house and its step back in time interior. I created the collage whilst sitting at the kitchen table (see picture), with my sketch book, scissors and glue to hand.

On returning home I created the repeat designs in the studio, which I used for the textiles, wallpaper and associated products.

I find collage a particularly therapeutic way of creating images, so this was the perfect medium for such a peaceful and happy family time.
